On September 3, a men’s footwear store, TAFT, opened its first location in Philadelphia. TAFT is “the stylish European-inspired men’s footwear produced by experienced artisans in Portugal and Spain, meticulously hand-cut, and hand-painted.” The company is known for its ornate and intricate patterns and designs.
The location at 1527 Walnut Street offers a wide selection of boots including wingtips, leather boots, hiking boots and cap-toe combat boots. They also sell loafers, t-shirts, sneakers and accessories.
The founders, Kory and Mallory Stevens started TAFT as a men’s no-show sock brand and quickly transitioned that into a footwear business after a post went viral on Reddit.
TAFT currently has locations in Houston and Dallas, Texas and in Soho, New York and now Philadelphia!
“We’ve witnessed the growth of a high concentration of customers in cities like Philadelphia, and are now able to provide them with an in-real-life and omnichannel experience,” said Kory in a statement. “When we dreamed up TAFT in our living room, we had big ambitions, and having our own store was absolutely one of them. Seeing our products displayed on shelves and in the hands of our customers is literally a dream come true.”
If you can’t make it into the store, styles are always available online. Check out the gorgeous photos and styles in the new Philly store.
The store is open Monday to Saturday from 11 to 7 and Sunday from 12 to 6. So if you are in Center City and are in need of some nice shoes, be sure to check out TAFT.
