Relentless passion. Infectious hornlines. Dancing that would be taken for insane behavior in almost any other context. This is just a taste of what to expect during a live show of Streetlight Manifesto, legends of the ska-punk music genre hailing from New Brunswick, New Jersey. Their 2019 “Thieves In The Night Tour” makes a stop in Philadelphia this Friday, September 13th at Franklin Music Hall.
Last year the band embarked on a different path for their live performances. They toured with a full orchestra under the moniker “Bandits of the Acoustic Revolution” and sold out venues like New York’s Radio City Music Hall. The horns and punk energy were still present for that tour, just accentuated with the unbridled force of an entire orchestra.
Despite not releasing new material since their 2013 LP “The Hands that Thieve”, Streetlight Manifesto has maintained an active touring schedule. Their impressive live performances keep fans coming back for more year after year. Whether its screaming along to frontman Tomas Kalnoky’s lyrics or moshing during instrumental breakdows, the energy in the venue is nothing short of palpable. Streetlight Manifesto remains at the top of their class in the world of ska so be sure not to miss out on their set this Friday. You can purchase tickets here.
