The Philadelphia Flower show is the oldest and largest indoor flower show in the country, starting in 1829 by the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society. Every year, the Philadelphia Flower Show displays an array of beautiful plants and flowers in a creative way that ties into a specific theme for each year. There are different displays of plant varieties, design concepts, floral arranging, and special events.
The show recently revealed its theme for the upcoming year (2020) and its called “Riviera Holiday” which will be influenced by the coastal regions of Europe and have emphasis on the French Riviera. In addition, the show will also pay homage to the late Princess Grace of Monaco, a Philadelphia native and avid Flower Show fan. According to Julia Hatmaker of PennLive, you can expect “lots of citrus trees, lavender, and landscapes that call to mind the Mediterranean.”
The show will also have guided tours, a preview party, and an 80s themed opening night dance party. The “Riviera Holiday” show will run from February 29th through March 8th at the Pennsylvania Convention Center. Tickets are on sale now so don’t wait, this one is sure to be beautiful!
