Reading Terminal Market launches crowd-funding campaign

The Reading Terminal Market is a historic landmark in Philly. However, due to the closures of businesses due to COVID-19, The Reading Terminal is now launching a crowd-funding campaign to stay open.
For those of you who don’t know the Reading Terminal market is one of America’s largest and oldest public markets. You can enjoy delicious food, whether to enjoy right there or take home later, and you can buy items such as books, flowers, kitchenware, etc.
They want to launch the campaign not only for its customers and the city, but for the 80+ vendors inside the market, who have fallen on tough times during the pandemic. With businesses being closed, the vendors have lost money and customers who would stop by on their lunch breaks.
The GoFundMe Campaign, which is set at a $250,000 goal, would help maintain the building and the vendors so they can keep the small businesses inside open. Three vendors have already moved out, due to low foot traffic.
Usually, the market would see about 50,000 people per day, but because of the pandemic, the crowd size has been cut in half.
Reading Terminal Market is following along with the safety procedures, such as masks, social distancing, and limiting the amount of people.
So if you can spare some money to help one of the best places in the city, please do. Your donation is tax deductible.
