Queer Eye’s Fab Five Talk to Jimmy Fallon About Season 5 in Philly

Since its release back in 2018, Netflix’s Queer Eye has taken the country and quite frankly, the world by storm. The Fab Five have been across the country to multiple locations, ranging from Kansas City, Missouri to Atlanta, Georgia, and, in its latest season, our very own Philadelphia. The fifth season of the show was released on June 5th, and has since gotten positive reception for fans and viewers everywhere. Given the success of the show and its newest season, the Fab Five recently talked with late-night show host Jimmy Fallon about the season and spending time in the City of Brotherly Love.
For people from Philly and around the area, it is not unusual to encounter people that are more on the reserved side. For the Fab Five, they noted that Philly folks are tough and unique in their personalities, to put it nicely! Karamo Brown, the show’s culture/self care expert, commented on this saying that Philadelphians are “tough nuts to crack”, going on to say, “Philly’s the only place I ever had someone be like, ‘Nah, I’m good.” Brown has only love for the city that he is very familiar with, as he spent time in the Philly filming Real World: Philadelphia back in 2004.
The other members of the Fab Five, like fashion expert Tan, food expert Antoni, and interior decorator Bobby, agreed that the heroes were a little more closed off than what they were used to in the other seasons, but because of that, the results of the makeover were even more powerful and rewarding. Grooming expert Jonathan disagreed and didn’t see a difference between people from Philly and New York, where he has worked for over 13 years.
The latest season of Queer Eye is the biggest one yet, with over 10 episodes, meaning more transformations to cry over and be invested in. What better than our very own Philly to be highlighted in one of the most popular Netflix series!
