A Philly Starbucks created a ‘WAP’ inspired drink
“WAP” is a song by Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion that came out over a month ago. The video and song were a bit risqué, but the song quickly became popular that it became a TikTok dance, climbed the charts, and even inspired Starbucks drinks.
You heard that right. A Center City Starbucks on 10th and Market made a “WAP” inspired drink. They advertised it with a sign outside that said, ‘Come try our WAP.’ Their version of WAP is white mocha, almond milk, and pumpkin spice, which is perfect for Fall.
A local Philly news site, Billy Penn, was the first to break the news about the drink. But no one could identify which employee made the sign.
The song sparked controversy for the explicit lyrics, but people have been using the acronym for many different things, including a billboard with the singers saying, ‘Wear A mask Please.’
FOX 29 joined in on the fun and tried the latte. Mike Jerrick made a joke that when he spilled it, he was going to need a bucket and a mop, referencing the lyrics. Cardi B responded to the post that she didn’t even know there was a WAP coffee.

Come on, Cardi. Come to Philly and try it!
For anyone who wants to try it, it can be made as a customized drink, even outside of Philly. A 16oz drink goes for about $7. So, if you’re a Starbucks lover and live for pumpkin spice, you have to try it!
