Temple Owls Beat Tulane at Home
Despite a couple losses, the Temple Owls have consistently impressed this season and continued to impress on Saturday’s game against Tulane. Now having an overall record of 7-3 and being bowl eligible for 6 years in a row, there is nothing stopping the Owls from finishing the remainder of the season with a bang. With an aggressive defense and stellar offense, the Owls went head to head with Tulane and beat them with a final score of 21-29 at home. Here are some of the best highlights from the game!
The Owl’s offense shined on Saturday. QB Anthony Russo completed 22 of 38 pass attempts for 221 yards with 2 TDs and 1 INT. Right behind Russo, QB Todd Centeio completed 4 out of 6 pass attempts for 76 yards and 1 TD. Leading in rushing yards were RB Re’Mahn Davis with 13 carries for 69 yards, and Jager Gardner with 5 carries for 23 yards. In receiving, WR Jadan Blue was on fire, having a total of 12 receptions for 131 yards.
Other top players include TE Kenny Yeboah with 5 carries for 63 yards, and WR Branden Mack with 5 carries for 48 yards.
Temple’s defense dominated on Saturday and were able to hold Tulane to 21 points offensively. The leading defensively player was defensive end Quincy Roche, with 12 tackles, 6 tackles for loss and three sacks. Roche also forced a fumble on a sack and recovered the ball, which helped to set up Temple’s first field goal. On his success in the game, Roche said, “Everybody on the D-line has turned it up the last couple weeks. I’m just having a ball with my guys, it’s fun out there to play with those guys.”
Other key players included LB Sam Franklin who had a total of 9 tackles, and LB Shaun Bradley who had 7 tackles and 1 for loss.
