Lincoln Financial Field given green light to host fans

Observing professional football games devoid of fans has truly been a surreal experience. After all, the passionate rallying cries of full stadiums are largely thought to be the primary contributor towards a sense of home field advantage for any given team.
While the prospects of NFL stadiums filled to capacity is still a long way down the road, Lincoln Financial Field, home of the Philadelphia Eagles, will no longer be empty for home games. Starting this Sunday against the Baltimore Ravens, the stadium has been granted the green light to hold a limited number of fans.
This “limited number” translates to between 5,500 and 6,000 total fans. Tickets have been on sale since Wednesday, October 14th for season-ticket holders who chose to opt in for this 2020 season. The remaining tickets will then be available to the general public.
The seating format will be in carefully spaced “seating pods” which can hold as many as six persons. The seating pods are divided throughout the stadium to allow at least six feet between each party. Eagles president Don Smolenski has offered the message “After many thoughtful and active discussions, we are thrilled to announce that the fan experience will return to Lincoln Financial Field this Sunday.”.
