‘Level Up’ Video of Dancing Philly Nurses Goes Viral
During these stressful times, we are all looking for ways to find joy even in the smallest of ways. From virtual choirs to creating new games, people are finding little ways to brighten their day, as well as the days of others, by sharing snippets on social media. Our health care workers, though stressed and overworked, are not only being shown compassion and appreciation by others, but they’re also creating ways to liven up moments in their day! Recently, a video of a group of nurses from Thomas Jefferson University Hospital went viral and celebrities loved it!
In the video, the nurses participated in the #LevelUpChallenge, which was created by singer Ciara. The challenge is not new, but has been blowing up as people are stuck at home during the Coronavirus outbreak. The group of nurses posted the video on their Instagram page on Sunday, saying “The ORIGINAL Swab Squad, #levelingup entering into this new week,” then additionally writing, “This is a fun way we can build up our teamwork during the #covid times.” In the video, the nurses are letting loose and having fun, dancing in a triangle formation and having fun to Ciara’s “Level Up” song.
After the video was posted, it didn’t take long for it to go viral, with Ciara herself reposting the video on her page to be viewed by her 25.1 million followers. Since then, the video has over 2 million views. In her post, the singer wrote, “Seeing the doctors and nurses of @Tjuh_pool do the #LevelUp dance brings me so much joy.”
The video gained a lot of attention from celebrities like Janet Jackson, who wrote “Love” on the post. Other celebrities like Reese Witherspoon said, “Love this! Thank you to all our medical care workers!”
Despite the dark times we are in, it is great that we can use a dance challenge and the power of social media to bring us together.
