It’s Been More Than a Year Since Philly Has Shoveled Snow
Do you remember the last time you went out of your house and shoveled snow? According to FOX 29 News, it has been over one year that Philly has seen at least an inch of snow. March 2nd, 2019 was the last snowfall that stuck in Philadelphia.
Although there was a snow squall on January 8th that lasted for a few hours.
For a few weeks now, residents of Philadelphia have gone outside in light jackets and some have even worn shorts. The weather has been in the 50s and 60s and people have been happy about it.
Looks like the groundhog was right and an early Spring is upon us.
This is only the second lowest total in Philadelphia with 0.3 inches of snow for a single season. December 15. 1973 ended a streak of 661 days without at least one day of snowfall.
Winter is over this month and according to FOX 29 meteorologist Kathy Orr, “anything that falls in March is going to melt.”
Is global warming to blame? Have we just gotten lucky? All we can say is goodbye winter.
