Her single, “Grapefruit” went viral in 2019, amassing over 830k streams and counting. She followed up that track with “Henni Heartbreak.” The music video has racked up over 275k views in a little over one month, which is really good for an up-and-coming artist. “Bandana, which samples Usher’s “U Remind Me,” was released as a single on April 7th. Billboard called “Bandana” a ‘swaggering kiss-off.’
The Philadelphia native released her EP under Electric Feel Records. Brandy Schwechler, adopted the nickname Almondmilkhunni while working as a barista in Philadelphia, and the name stuck.
She grew up in a devoutly religious Latina family and started performing at a young age in her church choir. Her father created his own music, ultimately inspiring her to do the same. Ultimately, she dropped out of college and started a music career.
Almondmilkhunni hopes listeners hear growth throughout the EP. “Creating it was a challenge but in the most natural way possible,” she states. After this EP drops, Almondmilkhunni has big plans for the future.
The EP is a great upbeat project that is great for dancing around your living room too. If you are going through a breakup or just enjoy good music, give this EP a listen.
